Central Textiles is an integrated textile producer that has been in operation in Central, South Carolina since 1984.

Issaqueena, early 1900s

The mill originated in the early 1900s, when local businessmen created opportunities for employment at Issaqueena Mill — a textile operation that expanded on the nearby Norris Cotton Mill. It was later acquired by WestPoint Stevens, before being purchased by private investors in 1984.

In 1984 the current owners purchased the old, existing mill and began a complete modernization, to make it a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility able to compete in today’s global marketplace.

The upgrades have been a continuing, ongoing process, with the installation of the latest generation in weaving technology.

How our cloth is made

Wingfield shirts are single-origin. Every hand that touches the cloth can be named — the mill that wove it, the shirtmaker who cut it, and the town each of them sits in.
